The capture of the pastel-colored sky is absolutely wonderful and in my humble experience, a subtlety only a Leica lens can capture. A floral series I photographed years ago of a rose variety with a delicate gradation of pink coloration was done with a combination of Nikkor and Leitax'd Leica R glass.

No contest.

In fact, I didn't even bother with the Nikkor images at all.

Hello, impressing story. Have same R8 and 35/80 Summilux-R combination and my opinion is, that lens and camera are made for each other, and that's the best ever made 35mm SLR film solution in my eyes. 35mm Summilux-R is good in case you'll once need an wider angle. It's also funny to adapt these lenses (only with a well made adapter like Novoflex or similiar) on an Sony a7 using focus peaking. And have a look to in France: there exists the club "les amis de Summilux": http://www.summilux.net/amis/
Greetings from Munich/Germany
